What does science based mean at Ogg Supply Co?
We know as well as you do that some “natural”, “organic”, and “plant based” skincare companies can get pretty wild with the claims that they make. Here at Ogg Supply we like to stick with the established facts- we work hard to stay current on the latest botanical and phytological discoveries in dermatology and medicine so that we are able to provide you with effective skincare formulas that have been designed with informed intention. Our products work because we built them that way.
What does plant based mean at Ogg Supply Co?
We believe that words are important and that you should mean what you say. When we say that Ogg Supply Co offers plant based skincare, we mean fully plant based! Every ingredient has a plant origin and has been processed as minimally as possible. By using whole cold pressed oils, extracts, and distillates we are able to offer you products that retain many of the vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids present in the source plant materials to deliver you and your skin serious, superior nutrition and support.
What are antioxidants? What are Essential Fatty Acids? Why do they matter?
Oxidative stress shows up in many forms including UV exposure, pollution, cigarette smoke, ozone, radiation and certain chemicals; antioxidants slow oxidative stress that can lead to the development of free radicals. Phenolic compounds, flavenoids and many vitamins all exhibit antioxidant properties but why do they matter? Free radicals are essentially rogue compounds that can attach and bind to normal cells in your body & cause damage. Antioxidants give free radicals something to bind to over wreaking havoc on your cellular structure. This action means that antioxidants play a vital role in the overall health of your skin.
Essential Fatty Acids are fatty acids that the human body is unable to synthesize what it requires for healthy function. In relation to your skin, essential fatty acids play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of your skin’s protective physical barriers as well as maintaining hydration levels and reducing dryness from trans epidermal water loss.
TL;DR – Antioxidants help prevent and reduce cellular damage from oxidative stress, essential fatty acids help maintain healthy skin barriers and hydration.
Does Ogg Supply Co use fragrance?
Absolutely not! We take pride in being straightforward with our ingredients lists- no fragrance, natural flavors, natural colors or other ambiguous terms that were thought up to mask ugly ingredients.
What about essential oils?
Many Ogg Supply Co formulas utilize a number of essential oils, chosen for their varying skin benefits. Essential Oils can be powerful tools in managing many skin conditions including acne, dermatitis, wrinkling, dryness, rosacea & other epidermal related issues. However it is important that essential oils are sourced through reputable, respected and transparent suppliers; here at Ogg Supply Co we are proud to say that we source all of our essential oils through Plant Therapy!Check them out here. Check out this great resource on essential oils & their uses in dermatology here.
** Not all of our products utilize essential oils – please look into our Neat Line as well as Trinity for products suitable to extra sensitive or sensitized skin. **
Where are the preservatives?
Preservatives are often hard on the skin due to the nature of their mechanism, many of them are persistent, and permanent environmental pollutants that also have the potential to sicken sensitive people and ecosystems alike. This has led Ogg Supply Co to design formulas without the use of chemical preservatives by harnessing the antioxidant and antimicrobial properties of the ingredients used and combining them with careful consideration.
How does Ogg Supply Co source ingredients?
Ogg Supply Co works with a number of businesses throughout the United States. Neat Butter FAQ
What is Neat Butter for? Tattooing? Healing? Skincare? I’m confused.
The answer is YES! Neat Butter helps soothe your skin during the tattoo process; reducing redness, swelling, and irritation. Neat Butter also supports your skin with vitamins, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants as your new tattoo heals, which means Neat Butter is also an excellent product for dry, irritated or inflamed skin.
TL:DRNeat Butter is for both during the tattooing process and the healing process. For tattoo maintenance we recommend our Neat Oil.
How did Neat Butter even end up in the tattoo industry?
Check out this blog post to learn about what launched Neat Butter into the tattoo scene.
Help! My Neat Butter melted?!
Don’t worry, order more! Just kidding – shake your butter very well for 60 – 90 seconds and then place it in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Yay! You saved the butter! You may notice that the volume in your container has slightly reduced- we fill all of our jars by weight just so you know.
How should I store my Neat Butter?
Just remember these three rules – COOL, DRY, DARK
DARK – Store away from direct sunlight
COOL – Store away from sources of heat/hot spots
DRY – Store away from high humidity/places where excess moisture may accumulate.
Help! I have Neat Butter running down my arm!
You’re using too much! Neat Butter melts at body temperature- this is part of the reason it sinks into the skin so well. When you put butter on your gloved hand to work with you want to see a lake and not a mountain; what we mean is take a small amount of butter, not more than a pea size amount, and work it around on your glove until it is melted down and looks like a shiny little lake on your hand. Pull ointment from the “lake” as you normally would from your “mountain.” Neat Butter will not react with industry standard non latex gloves. Neat Butter tends to “dry up” on powdered latex gloves.
Help! My gloves are eating my butter!
Stop using powdered latex gloves.
How much Neat Butter do I need?
Artists working with Neat Butter report using ½ – 1/3 the “normal” amount of ointment.
Is Neat Butter safe for sensitive skin?
YES! The entire Ogg Supply Co Neat Line was designed for sensitive skin.
I’m trying to avoid ingredients like mango/avocado/coconut oils etc, do you have anything for me?
You’re in luck! You should take a look at our newest release Trinity – while not specifically designated for tattooing Trinity contains only three ingredients, none of which contain hevein proteins. Please note that all Ogg Supply Co products are manufactured in the same facility. Learn more about Trinity in this blog post
Will my Neat Butter go bad?
We recommend using a spatula to remove Neat Butter from the jar and using products within 12 mos of opening.

Neat Aftercare FAQ
I am preparing to get tattooed – what do I need for aftercare?
For SM to MED sized tattoos – a great place to start is with our Aftercare Kit – this one does not include a Neat Cleanser.
For LRG tattoos and use beyond healing your tattoo our Neat Set & Aftercare is the way to go.
I have a new tattoo and all of my products- now how do I use them?
Rule #1 is always follow your artists instructions, Rule #1 is also seek medical attention if your suspect infection. Your artist should have bandaged your tattoo and told you how long to leave it on – do that. When you take your bandage off, wash your tattoo using Neat Cleanser and the hottest water that you can stand without burning yourself. Be gentle, rinse well. Allow your tattoo to air dry and then apply Neat Butter – if the product is shiny on your skin you can move it further across more skin, a little bit will go a long way. Neat Butter will not stick to your clothes or sheets or leave them greasy. Throughout the day we recommend using Neat Oil anytime your tattoo is dry or itchy – again remember that a little bit will go a long way! Follow the cleansing routine in the evening and apply Neat Butter. We recommend diligent aftercare for a minimum of 7-10 days – just think of your new tattoo for what it is; a large, superficial wound.
Help! I think that my tattoo is infected?
NOTIFY YOUR ARTIST/STUDIO AND SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.
